Tether 最知名的稳定币 USDT 也与美元挂钩，但主要用于为国际加密货币交易提供流动性；其市值为 $185 billion。 “Tether exists to challenge the status quo and build global infrastructure for freedom,” said Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, in a statement. “Our investment in Anchorage Digital reflects a shared belief in secure, transparent and resilient financial systems.”
Tether 因其稳定币背后的不确定支撑以及其数字资产在金融犯罪中的使用而时常备受争议。
其办公室的调查发现，Tether 对其稳定币的背书以及 Tether 与 Bitfinex 之间数亿美元资金流动的说法存在虚假，意在掩盖 Bitfinex 的巨额亏损的真相。两家公司被处以 $18.5 million 的罚款。
除了对 Tether 的投资外，Anchorage Digital 还允许长期任职的团队成员在 $4.2 billion 估值下出售部分股权。 “Launching our first employee tender offer allows us to reward the builders who believed early and stayed the course,” McCauley said.
